Pedro Matos was born on the 11th January 1984.Though he was born in Madeira Island, he spent all his childhood and youth in Lisbon city,capital of Portugal. Since he remembers, Photography and Cinema were his greatest passions. He started his carrier as a photographer at the age of sixteen, covering the theater play "Confissões de adolescentes" (Teenage Confessions), which had the participation of great future promises of the Portuguese seventh art.

When he was seventeen years old he started to attend the prestigious ARCO school in Lisbon, where he studied photography. He graduated in 2005, with only twenty-one years.

While studying at ARCO, Pedro Matos collaborated as a photographer in publicity campaigns and catalogs.

Besides many other event participations and photography works he collaborates, since March 2009, as a photographer and Photo Editor with the International Project of the omen mag , which will embrace and expose the work of the best artists of the wide array of art expressions.

His references are the work of photographers such as Tomas Ruff and Diane Arbus, Nan Goldin, Helmut Newton, Robert Mapletorpe, the design of La Chapelle and at last, but not the least, the reference of Steven Klein that floods Pedro Matos´ imaginary.
